Sources of inspiration
It was the famous fruit and plant portraits of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, the late Renaissance painter, that modelled as a template for the autumn images of Manuela’s Season Cycle. The undertaking for the photo sessions is considerable, from the selection of location to the search for matching and suitable accessories and (not to mention) the works of art hairstyling. Yes, some observers may only see beautiful women, but the subtle harmonising colour and light compositions, the devoted detail to scenes and above all the staging of the protagonists.
